The use of steel drag chains originated as early as Germany, and later was introduced and innovated domestically. Nowadays, steel drag chains have been widely used in machine tools, protecting cables and making the overall appearance of the machine more beautiful. Drag chains, rectangular metal hoses, protective covers, corrugated pipes, and plastic coated metal hoses all belong to cable protection products. Specification of steel drag chain

According to their structure, they can be divided into TL type steel drag chains and TLG type steel drag chains. Steel drag chains are classified by pitch into 45, 65, 75, 95, 100, 125, 180, 225, and 250 types. The width of the drag chain can be customized according to user requirements, with a bending radius ranging from 50-800. There are three forms of support plates. (1) When the drag chain needs to bear a large load of pipes and cables, a high-strength support plate - integral type (2) should be selected. When the pipe joint size of the pipe cable is larger than the inner hole diameter of the support plate or requires frequent disassembly, maintenance, etc. When there are many specifications and varieties for installing cable ducts, a support plate frame type can be selected.

The maximum travel of TLG and TL steel drag chains is 40 meters, suitable for all transmission modes. Can be extended or shortened at will. In addition, the bending radius can be changed by changing the pin axis. The bending radius should be selected according to the maximum diameter of the cable and should reach 10 times the diameter of the cable. For smaller strokes, a smaller radius can be selected accordingly

2. The width of the support plate for the steel aluminum drag chain is 150mm to 800mm, and the spacing between holes is 10mm. The height of the chain plate, which is also the height of the support plate, is determined by the maximum diameter of the cable

When the machine tool is operating at its maximum limit, if the width of the steel drag chain exceeds 300mm and the length of the drag chain exceeds 4m, for stability reasons, it should be considered to choose a drag chain with a size one larger.

1. Determine the height of the chain plate (Hg) and the type of drag chain based on the maximum aperture (Dma) of the support plate.

2. The aperture of the inner cavity of the support plate D1=d is approximately equal to 0.1d (take an integer). Where d=outer diameter of wires, cables, liquid and gas hoses.

3. Determine the bending radius of the support plate type drag chain based on the functional requirements of the drag chain:

1) When the size of the pipe joint of the cable is larger than the inner hole diameter of the support plate or requires frequent disassembly, maintenance, etc., a separate type support plate can be selected;

2) When the drag chain needs to bear large pipe and cable loads, high-strength support plate type integral block type should be selected;

3) When there are many specifications and varieties of cable installation, frame type support plates can be used.

4. When the use of machine tool drag chains is restricted or affected by the environment, steel strip protective support plates need to be used.

5. Determine the width b1 of the support plate based on the number of installed cables, and thus determine the width B of the drag chain.
