The Fischer ferrite measuring instrument is based on the principle of magnetic permeability measurement. Austenitic stainless steel is usually non-magnetic, while ferrite has magnetism. When the probe of the measuring instrument contacts the surface of the material being measured, it generates a magnetic field. Due to the presence of ferrite, the magnetic field changes, and the measuring instrument can capture this change and convert it into a numerical value of ferrite content through a built-in algorithm.
