Main properties and grades of PEEK
PEEK is a high-temperature resistant thermoplastic with a high glass transition temperature (143 ℃) and melting point (334 ℃), and a load heat deformation temperature of up to 316 ℃ (30% glass fiber or carbon fiber reinforced grades)
1. PEEK5600G (brownish gray/earthy yellow) is made from pure polyetheretherketone resin, which has good toughness and impact resistance among all PEEK grades. Pure PEEK can be disinfected using convenient methods such as steam, drying heat, ethanol, and X-rays, and the raw materials used to manufacture PEEK comply with the EU and US FDA regulations on food stress. These characteristics make it suitable for widespread use in medical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries.
2. The addition of PTFE, graphite, and carbon fiber to PEEK5600LF30 (black) results in PEEK5600LF30 becoming a bearing grade plastic. Its superior friction performance (low friction coefficient, wear resistance, high peak pressure limit) makes it an ideal material for friction applications at this level.
3. PEEK-5600GF30 (brown gray) is a reinforced plastic material filled with 30% glass fiber, which has better rigidity and creep resistance than PEEK, as well as better dimensional stability, making it ideal for manufacturing structural parts. Can withstand fixed loads for a long time at high temperatures. If PEEK5600GF30 is used as the sliding component, its adaptability should be carefully checked because the glass fiber scratches the mating surface.
4. PEEK-5600CF30 (black) is a material filled with 30% carbon fiber reinforcement, which has better mechanical properties (higher modulus of elasticity, mechanical strength, and creep resistance) and wear resistance than PEEK5600GF30. Moreover, the plastic reinforced with carbon fiber has 3.5 times the thermal conductivity and can dissipate heat from the bearing surface faster than the unenhanced PEEK plastic.
