R.M.YOUNG05103 Wind MonitorMeasure horizontal wind speed and direction. Developed for use with ocean data buoys, it is sturdy, durable, corrosion-resistant, but highly accurate and lightweight. The four blade propeller used for measuring wind speed generates AC sine wave signals during rotation. The wind direction is determined by a wind vane attached to a precision potentiometer inside the internal casing. The sensor structure uses ultraviolet stabilized stainless steel plastic and anodized aluminum components. Precision grade stainless steel ball bearings are equipped with mild contact Teflon seals and a wide temperature lubricating grease, which helps prevent contamination. The sensor is installed on a standard 1-inch IPS pipeline. Including the installation of an orientation ring that engages with the base of the sensor to maintain orientation when the sensor is removed for maintenance. The terminal is connected to the junction box at the bottom of the sensor through a small clamp type connector (no special connector is required).
