Built in quenching GM tube with mica window, surface density of 1.5-2.0mg/cm2. The effective diameter of the window is 45mm (1.75in). The Inspector type (with only internal GM tube) has a radiographic mark at the center of the front panel

Update the display reading every 3 seconds. When detecting low background values, the update rate is the moving average of the previous 30 second period. This time period will decrease due to an increase in radiation levels.
