The measurement method for soil moisture content is the Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) method, which is also a way to obtain soil moisture content by measuring the soil dielectric constant. The principle of TDR is that when electromagnetic waves propagate along a transmission wire in a non-magnetic medium to the end of the wire, a portion of the electromagnetic waves are reflected back along the wire, forming a time difference T between the incident and reflected waves. Therefore, by measuring the time difference T between the incident and reflected electromagnetic waves on the wire buried in the soil, the dielectric constant of the soil can be calculated, and the soil moisture content can be determined.
