Low temperature plasma technology forms a highly concentrated plasma region around an electrode (bipolar or multipole forming a voltage difference) through a conductive medium (sodium chloride solution or electrolyte in cell fluid). The plasma region is composed of highly ionized particles, which have sufficient energy to crush the organic molecular chains within the tissue, thereby separating molecules and reducing the volume of the tissue. Not directly damaging the organization, with minimal damage to surrounding tissues.
