Common knowledge of using element lamps
Before leaving the factory, the manufacturer usually needs to age the 1-element lamp (keep it on for tens of hours before leaving the factory to achieve * performance). If the user finds that the performance of the purchased new lamp is significantly different, it is necessary to perform a period of aging at the user's site before judging the performance of the lamp.
If current regulation is performed during normal use, it should be done slowly. Suddenly increasing the lamp current may cause spraying on the cathode surface, affecting the service life of the lamp and, in severe cases, damaging the cathode.
If left unused for a long time, it may not function properly due to gas leakage, gas adsorption, and other reasons, and may even fail to light up. Therefore, it is recommended to power on infrequently used lights for 2-3 hours every 3 months to maintain their performance and extend their lifespan.
When using, especially for low melting point elements such as As, Se, etc., large vibrations should be avoided. After use, other lamps should not be replaced immediately, and they need to be cooled before replacement.
When removing or loading hollow cathode lamps, the lamp holder should be held instead of the lamp tube, and the quartz window of the lamp should not be touched to prevent the lamp tube from breaking or the window from being contaminated, which may cause a decrease in light energy.
Once broken, the cathode material is exposed to the outside. In order to prevent certain harmful elements on the cathode material from affecting human health, the hazardous materials should be disposed of according to regulations and should not be thrown around casually.
