1. Drying oven
The freeze-drying chamber is cylindrical with multiple reinforcing ribs to enhance strength. The box and door are both made of SUS304 stainless steel. The chamber is equipped with vacuum piping connections, drainage, defrosting, and vacuum valves. The side is equipped with a product rack and a steam condenser. This chamber has two doors - one at each end, one for product loading/unloading; The other one is at the condenser end. The door and chamber are sealed with silicone rubber to prevent any vacuum leakage. The opening angle of the door is 110 degrees. The hinge will be on the left or right side, depending on the customer. Close through four quick acting latches. Each door has an observation port. The frame of the observation port is made of 304 stainless steel and tempered glass windows, which can visually monitor the steam condenser and products. The track is suspended from the ceiling indoors to allow for the hanging and movement of handcarts.
2. Shelves and handcarts
A specific number of 'modules' consist of multiple shelves that can be used to load products, with the top panel providing only radiant heat.
Place the product in a tray and load it onto the heating plate (rack) in the freeze dryer. The heating plate can cool and heat, so the machine can freeze the product in place or pre freeze it in a cold storage. The heating plate is made of SUS304 stainless steel or aluminum and has flat upper and lower heating fluid channels. The handcart of a large freeze dryer is equipped with wheels that run on tracks located above the chamber, allowing each handcart to rotate outside the chamber.
3. Tray
A: SUS304 stainless steel product trays are mainly used for processing liquid materials. The freeze dryer includes two sets of trays.
B: Aluminum product trays are mainly used for handling solid materials and have rounded corners, making them easy to clean. The freeze dryer includes two sets of trays.
4. Steam condenser
The steam condenser is located in the rear or lower half of the drying oven and is composed of 25mm SUS304 round tubes. The refrigeration of a steam condenser is achieved through direct expansion. Use water to defrost the accumulated ice in the steam condenser, and it is recommended to use hot water to accelerate the defrosting cycle.
5. Vacuum system
The vacuum system consists of a drying chamber, condenser, vacuum tube, valve, and vacuum pump. The vacuum system is rapidly sublimating. Large systems require Roots pumps to provide effective evacuation capabilities.
6. Heating system
The heating plate is cooled and heated using a heat transfer fluid. This fluid can be cooled or heated to allow for on-site freezing or heating of the product during the drying process. Electric boilers directly heat fluids and cool them through intermediate heat exchangers. Centrifugal pumps provide forced circulation of heat transfer fluids.
7. Refrigeration system
The refrigeration system freezes the heating plate in the early stages of in-situ freezing, vacuuming, and drying. It is also cooling the steam condenser during the drying process. Large equipment uses screw compressors, while small equipment uses piston compressors. The refrigerants used are R404a and R507. Brand: Bizelle
8. The defrosting system uses water to defrost the steam condenser. As an optional additional feature, heat can be recovered from the refrigeration compressor to achieve 60 º C hot water defrosting, greatly reducing defrosting time compared to traditional cold water.
9. The control system adopts Siemens or Advantech PLC approved by CE or UL. All electrical components are compatible with the local power supply, including voltage, frequency, wires, motor circuit breakers, and overload protection. Multiple sensors support data acquisition and control of freeze dryers: equipped with pressure sensors for monitoring and controlling the refrigeration system; Monitor the vacuum pressure of the drying oven; Temperature sensors measure and control heated fluids
