The air-cooled screw chiller mainly consists of the following four basic equipment:
1) Compressor
Its function is to suck in refrigerant vapor from the evaporator, compress it to condensing pressure, and then discharge it to the condenser. The compressor used for air-cooled screw type industrial chillers is the Taiwan Hanzhong/Germany Bitzer screw refrigeration compressor.
2) Condenser
The function of a refrigeration machine is to condense high-pressure refrigerant vapor from the compressor into liquid. During the condensation process, refrigerant vapor releases heat, therefore cooling is required. According to the different cooling media, it can be divided into air-cooled, water-cooled, and evaporator types. The water-cooled chiller unit uses an air-cooled condenser, also known as a finned condenser.
3) Throttling mechanism
The function of a chiller is to reduce the pressure of the high-pressure refrigerant liquid from the condenser to the evaporation pressure.
4) Evaporator
Its function is to evaporate the refrigerant liquid under the evaporation pressure from the throttling mechanism into refrigerant vapor.
5) Electric control system
Its function is to control the on/off of the chiller unit, the electrical connections between various components, and the control of protective devices. The microcomputer control panel can not only display the operating status of the chiller, but also adjust the required cooling temperature by itself.
