From April 8th to 10th, the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Flame retardant Materials and Applications Professional Committee of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association and the 7th Flame retardant Plastic Technology Innovation and Market Application Seminar were held in Longkou, Shandong. Leaders and guests from government departments, industry organizations, universities, research institutions, and upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain attended the annual event in the field of flame retardant materials to discuss innovative development plans for flame retardant materials.
The Flame retardant Materials and Applications Special Committee is committed to the healthy and sustainable development of China's flame retardant materials industry, paying attention to industry hotspots, researching industry development directions, promoting industry structural adjustment, advancing industry technology, and providing a platform for communication and cooperation among upstream, midstream, and downstream enterprises and research institutions in the industry. This conference is hosted by the China Plastics Processing Industry Association and organized by the Flame retardant Materials and Applications Special Committee and Dao En Group. It is reported that this is the second time in seven years that the special committee has returned to Longkou since its establishment in 2019. At the seminar, renowned scholars from top domestic universities such as Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Northeast Forestry University, and Beijing Institute of Technology, as well as representatives of industry leaders, focused on the core issues of flame retardant plastic technology innovation and market application, focusing on new material research and development, technological breakthroughs, market expansion, and industrial transformation, and deeply shared cutting-edge research results, practical experience, and development insights.
Chairman Yu Xiaoning introduced the development of Daoen Group and Longkou New Materials Technology Industrial Park. He stated that the special committee will always closely follow the central work of the association, actively fulfill its duties and responsibilities, continuously deepen industry exchanges, and carefully organize various activities. At present, we are at the beginning of the 15th Five Year Plan period, which is a crucial stage in accelerating the industry's leap towards new quality productivity. The special committee will continue to innovate its work ideas and methods, anchor the direction of functional, high-end, integrated, green, intelligent, and international development, and make precise efforts to lead China's flame retardant materials industry to achieve high-quality development with both quality and efficiency.
Chairman Wang Zhanjie pointed out in his speech that 2026 is an important year for scientifically planning the development blueprint of the 15th Five Year Plan. In the face of new situations and tasks, the flame retardant materials industry must accurately grasp the overall trend, keep up with the direction of industrial transformation, focus on new demands arising from new energy infrastructure, high-end equipment manufacturing, and other fields, and adhere to green and circular development to lead technological upgrading; To strengthen innovation driven development and cultivate new driving forces for industrial growth; To deepen collaborative progress and consolidate the strong synergy of industry cooperation; We must adhere to the craftsmanship and quality, and build a solid foundation for the stable and far-reaching development of the industry. He emphasized that as long as the entire industry has firm confidence, works hand in hand, and firmly follows the path of innovation driven, collaborative, and green development, it will definitely promote China's flame retardant materials industry to continuously reach new heights and achieve new breakthroughs, providing strong support for accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system.
