Maintenance and upkeep of fatigue testing system
Date: 2025-11-07Read: 28
The maintenance and upkeep of the fatigue testing system should start from four aspects: the host, oil source, control system, and general maintenance. Specific precautions are as follows

1、 Host maintenance

  1. Chain wheel drive inspectionRegularly check the transmission condition of the sprocket, and adjust the tension wheel in a timely manner when looseness is found to ensure stable transmission.
  2. Fixture storageThe fixtures equipped with the machine should be coated with rust proof oil for storage to prevent rusting from affecting use.
  3. Jaw cleaningThe jaws are frequently used and prone to wear, and excessive oxidation may cause damage to the small piston and oil leakage. Therefore, the jaws should be cleaned regularly and kept clean, preferably after each test.
  4. Sliding surface lubricationThe sliding surface in contact between the embedded steel plate and the lining plate, as well as the dovetail groove surface on the lining plate, should be kept clean and regularly coated with a thin layer of MoS2 (molybdenum disulfide) grease to reduce wear.
  5. Screw fasteningRegularly check the screws in the jaw area and tighten them promptly if they become loose to prevent accidents during the testing process.

2、 Oil source maintenance

  1. Oil leakage inspectionRegularly check whether there are any oil leaks at the host and oil source. If oil leaks are found, replace the sealing ring or combination gasket in a timely manner to prevent hydraulic oil leakage from affecting system performance.
  2. filter replacementRegularly replace the oil suction filter and filter element according to the usage of the machine and the service life of the oil, to prevent dirt from entering the servo valve and extend the operation time of the servo valve.
  3. Hydraulic oil replacementHydraulic oil will oxidize and coking during long-term operation, and the wear of pumps, valves, cylinders, etc. in the hydraulic system will produce metal shavings, reducing the quality of hydraulic oil. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly replace the hydraulic oil based on its usage cycle and oil analysis results. It is generally recommended to replace it every 10 months.
  4. Servo valve maintenanceAs a frequently used component, servo valves inevitably experience wear and tear during daily use. Regularly clean and replace the torque motor and pilot valve to prevent contamination from causing poor servo valve operation. When installing and disassembling servo valves, they should be carried out in a clean environment as much as possible. Before operation, remove the electrical signal and the hydraulic system pressure. After disassembling the servo valve, clean all parts in a clean and compatible commercial solvent, air dry or blow dry with clean and dry air using a soft air hose. The cleaned servo valve can be used as a spare part in rotation to reduce costs.

3、 Control system maintenance

  1. power managementIf the machine is not used for a long period of time after the experiment, the controller and computer should be turned off to prevent standby power consumption and potential faults. The interfaces on the controller correspond one-to-one, and plugging in the wrong interface may cause damage to the device. Therefore, when plugging in or unplugging the interfaces on the controller, the controller power must be turned off.
  2. Connection line inspectionRegularly check whether the connecting wires on the back panel of the controller are in good contact, and tighten them in a timely manner if they are loose to prevent poor contact from causing abnormal signal transmission.

4、 General maintenance measures

  1. Regular verificationUnder normal working conditions, the error of the fatigue testing machine needs to be regularly verified, and the effective period is generally one year. Only through precise verification can the measured data be guaranteed to be accurate and error free.
  2. Dust protectionAfter use, the machine should be covered with a protective cover to prevent dust from falling into the equipment, affecting its normal use and reducing its lifespan.
  3. Safe groundingWhen using the testing machine, it should be safely grounded to ensure accurate measurement of data information and prevent electric shock accidents.
  4. Regular cleaningDue to long-term operation of the equipment, it will contain a large amount of dust and debris, which will affect the normal measurement of the equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly clean the equipment to prevent dust from causing measurement burden and affecting measurement accuracy.
