What are the precautions for fully electric injection molding machines

During the use of fully electric injection molding machines, attention should be paid to the following aspects, including operating standards, maintenance, safety protection, etc.:

1、 Preparation before startup

  1. safety protectionBefore starting work, it is necessary to wear safety protective clothing such as safety shoes, protective goggles, gloves, etc.
  2. Environmental cleaningClean up the environment around the equipment, ensure there are no items unrelated to production, and keep the work area clean.
  3. Equipment inspection
    • Clean up the debris inside and outside the workbench and equipment, wipe the injection seat guide rail and the clamping part pull rod.
    • Check if all control switches, buttons, electrical circuits, operating handles, and handwheels are damaged or malfunctioning.
    • Check whether the safety protection devices are intact, such as the emergency stop button and whether the safety door slides flexibly.
    • Check if the screws in all parts are tightened, if the cooling water pipeline is unobstructed, if there are no foreign objects in the hopper and if the hopper cover is securely closed.

2、 Startup operation specifications

  1. Power supply and preheating
    • Close the main power switch of the machine tool and check if there is any electrical leakage in the equipment.
    • Preheat the barrel and mold according to the set process temperature to ensure uniform temperature of the barrel, with a holding time of no less than 20 minutes.
  2. Cooling and oil pump start-up
    • Open the cooling water valve of the oil cooler to cool the return oil and water supply pipe.
    • Start the oil pump by tapping, confirm that there are no abnormal phenomena, and then officially start the oil pump. After the screen displays "motor on", the operation can be carried out. At the same time, check whether the safety door function is normal.
  3. Screw rotationManually start the screw rotation, listen carefully to the sound of the screw rotation, and confirm that there are no abnormalities or jamming phenomena.
  4. Operating Specifications
    • Safety doors must be used during operation. If the safety door travel switch fails, it is strictly prohibited to turn on the machine.
    • The relevant cover plates and protective covers of the electrical, hydraulic, and rotating parts of the operating equipment must be covered and fixed.
    • Non on duty operators are not allowed to press any buttons or handles without permission, and it is strictly prohibited for two or more people to operate the same injection molding machine at the same time.

3、 Precautions during the production process

  1. Molds and insertsWhen placing molds and inserts, it is necessary to ensure stability and reliability. If any abnormalities are found during the mold closing process, the vehicle should be stopped immediately and technical personnel should be notified to troubleshoot.
  2. Repair and Cleaning
    • When repairing the machine or cleaning the mold for a long time (more than 10 minutes), it is necessary to retract the injection seat to keep the nozzle away from the mold and turn off the motor.
    • During maintenance, the operator must not leave their post.
  3. Empty injection and cleaning
    • The empty injection time usually does not exceed 5 seconds. When there is no movement during two consecutive injections, nearby personnel should be immediately notified to avoid the dangerous area.
    • When cleaning the nozzle rubber head, tools such as pliers should be used to avoid direct use of hands to prevent burns.
  4. Melt glue cylinder safetyDuring the operation of the glue cylinder, it is strictly prohibited to step on, climb or place objects above it to prevent burns, electric shocks and fires.

4、 Shutdown precautions

  1. Normal shutdown
    • Close the hopper gate and repeat air injection pre molding until no molten material is ejected from the nozzle.
    • When producing corrosive materials, it is necessary to clean the barrel and screws thoroughly.
  2. Equipment Maintenance
    • Detach the injection seat from the fixed template and place the mold in an open state.
    • Close the cooling water pipeline, turn all switches to the "OFF" position, and turn off the main power switch of the machine tool when the last shift stops during holidays.
    • Clean up machine tools, workbenches, and ground debris, oil stains, and dust to keep the workplace clean and tidy.

5、 Daily maintenance and upkeep

  1. Appearance cleaningBefore starting up every day, use a clean cloth to wipe the external components of the injection molding machine, such as the body, template, and pull rod, to remove dust, oil stains, and other impurities.
  2. Lubrication system inspection
    • Check the oil level of the lubricating oil tank to ensure that it is within the normal range.
    • Check if the lubrication pipeline is unobstructed and if there are any leaks.
  3. Cooling system inspection
    • Check if the cooling water pipeline is securely connected and if there is any leakage.
    • Check the water level of the cooling tower (if any) or cooling water tank to ensure that the water level is normal.
  4. Electrical system inspection
    • Check the control cabinet of the injection molding machine to ensure that all electrical components are securely connected without any looseness.
    • Check if the indicator lights, display screens, etc. on the control panel are working properly.
  5. regular maintenance
    • Weekly: Conduct detailed inspections of moving parts such as screws, barrels, etc., clean the interior of the barrels, and check the quality and level of hydraulic oil.
    • Monthly: Inspect and maintain the installation site of the mold, check the safety devices and motors.
    • Quarterly: Conduct comprehensive maintenance on the hydraulic system and check the tension of mechanical transmission components.
    • Every year: Conduct a comprehensive disassembly and inspection of major components such as screws, barrels, injection seats, etc., check the structure of the machine body, and update the control system software.

6、 Safety Warning

  1. It is strictly prohibited to start the injection molding machine without being familiar with its performance and operation.
  2. Do not change or remove machine safety equipment or warning signs without authorization.
  3. When the machine is running, do not touch the moving parts of the machine at will. In case of emergency, immediately press the red emergency stop button.
