【 Maintenance Guide 】 Maintenance and Inspection of Injection Molding Machines after Rainwater Soaking

After the injection molding machine is flooded, it may cause damage to various aspects such as the electrical control box, hydraulic system, lubrication system, etc. The following steps will introduce the treatment methods:
  01 Hydraulic system inspection
1) Check if the hydraulic oil is affected by water. If there is water, do not start the motor oil pump to avoid further damage to the hydraulic components.
2) Check the hydraulic oil status: Open the plug at the bottom of the oil tank on the frame, take a small amount of oil, ignite it with a piece of paper. If it cannot be ignited or there is a crackling sound, it indicates that the hydraulic oil is contaminated with water and needs to be replaced.
3) After replacing the hydraulic oil, it is necessary to thoroughly clean and dry the oil tank.
  02 Electrical inspection
1) Disconnect all power sources.
2) Check if the computer host is exposed to water. If it is, quickly remove the button battery from the host to prevent corrosion of electronic components.
3) Check if other electrical components are exposed to water, remove and clean them, and dry them, including the main unit, air switch, contactor, transformer, switch power supply, etc.
4) After cleaning and drying, use a multimeter to check the resistance value of electrical components to ensure that they can work properly.
5) For split models, clean and dry the plugs separately after connecting them.
  03 Servo system inspection

1) Open the drive housing, remove debris, clean the circuit board and electronic components with alcohol, and check for rust.
2) Use a hair dryer or electric fan to thoroughly dry the inside of the drive.
3) Measure the resistance of the driver. If it is below the megaohm level, it needs to be sent to the factory for maintenance.
4) After trial operation, installation and restoration, power on for 2 minutes. If there are no abnormalities, it can start normally.

1) Check if the power supply terminals are exposed to water and allow them to dry thoroughly before continuing to use.
2) If the encoder terminal is exposed to water, it needs to be sent to the factory for maintenance.
3) Clean the foreign objects on the oil seal and rotor to ensure cleanliness before use.
4) Check if the motor bearings are corroded and replace them if necessary.
5) The measurement of the UVW three-phase resistance of the motor should be consistent, and the resistance of the motor power supply terminal to ground should be greater than 50M Ω.
  04 Restoration and Test Preparation
1) Restore all disassembled parts and ensure that the electrical box and other parts are fully dry (it is recommended to place the equipment in a cool and ventilated place for one week to avoid the risk of electric shock caused by water accumulation in uncleaned areas)
2) Before starting, check if the voltage and resistance of the incoming power supply, neutral wire, and ground wire are normal.
In order to avoid damage to the injection molding machine caused by rainwater immersion, a series of preventive and protective measures need to be taken. Regularly maintain, clean, and lubricate injection molding machines to ensure their normal operation. In addition, in rainy weather, strengthen waterproof measures to protect various components of the machine, and in high temperature environments, pay attention to cooling and heat dissipation to ensure the stability and safety of the machine and electrical components.
