working principle
This instrument is suitable for the national standard method of the People's Republic of China: HJ505-2009 Determination of Five day Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5) in Water Quality - Dilution and Inoculation Method.
The user places the sample and blank (two) into the sample bottle and transfers them to the sample rack (place clean empty bottles in areas without samples), then transfer them to the machine sample grade and close the operation door. Then all operations are automatically completed by the machine until they are reported as completed on the computer (or displayed on a mobile app). During this period, samples can be added or transferred to an external incubator.
The specific operation process is as follows:
If the customer chooses to use a pipette to add the sample at a predetermined dilution ratio, the machine will fill each sample bottle with dilution water to 300ml.
If the customer chooses automatic injection, they need to set the dilution transfer position on the computer. The machine will take the calculated sample amount into the sample bottle using a 50ml syringe controlled by a stepper motor according to the dilution ratio, and then fill all the sample bottles again.
Then start measuring the initial dissolved oxygen of DO1. Firstly, if DO1 is less than 8mg/L, start the aeration program. Secondly, if the measured temperature is not within 20 ± 1 ℃, measure the next one. Repeat this process until the measurement is complete. The waiting time for temperature stabilization can be defined.
Wait for five days for cultivation, during which there is no need to add water to seal, as special bottle caps are used. As soon as the five-day period arrives, the DO2 of each sample bottle will be automatically measured and a report will be immediately generated and sent to the computer and mobile app.
