Raytrix GmbH was founded in 2008 and its light field camera technology holds a prominent positionIndustrial grade light field camera. Lingyun has established a strategic partnership with Raytrix, becoming the agent for Raytrix's entire product line and capable of customizing products ranging from 5 million to 70 million pixels.
Light field cameras have significant differences in structural principles and imaging results compared to ordinary cameras. One shot can capture all light vector information within the field of view (such as grayscale, color, spatial position, size, etc.). By refocusing in the later stage, different depth of field image information and depth information of the scenery can be obtained.
The key to this technology lies in the addition of a micro lens array between the main lens and the image sensor in Raytrix, as shown in the figure below. The light field camera focuses the object through the main lens and is re imaged by the micro lens, so that micro lenses at different positions can capture complete image and position information of pixels.

Technical principle:
The propagation of light in free space can be described using two planes and four coordinates (four-dimensional quantities, academically known as light fields)The imaging process involves a two-dimensional integration of this four-dimensional light field, resulting in a two-dimensional image. A light field camera can capture light emitted from any point in space in any direction, which is equivalent to directly recording a four-dimensional light field. Images with different focal depths are then integrated in two dimensions under different conditions to obtain image information at different object distances.
The core technological advantage of Raytrix lies in: 1. Utilizing an array composed of three different focal lengths of micro lenses added between the main lens and the sensor of the camera to obtain light field information, thereby greatly expanding the depth of field;
2. By using professional software algorithms to refocus the obtained image information, high-resolution four-dimensional light field information can be obtained. One shot can obtain 3D images and 3D depth of field information, thereby achieving: a. multi view images with stereoscopic disparity; b. Software free focusing; c. Full frame focusing; d. Stereoscopic depth information.
3. Professional camera correction and image reconstruction technology: The Raytrix light field camera not only corrects the optical path in hardware during the imaging process, but also corrects the distortion of the image in software. It establishes the correspondence between the image coordinate system of the object and the pixel coordinates in the physical coordinate system through two shots of the calibration plate (as shown in Figure 1), thereby restoring the object'sAs shown in the figure below, the depth and curvature of the image before correction are distorted. After correction, the true information of the object can be restored, and the complete 3D image structure of the object can be obtained by stitching the images together.
Comparison with Stereoscopic Shooting System:
The multi view stereo shooting system may have certain blind spots during the framing process, as shown in Figure 1. However, the micro lens array of the Raytrix light field camera can collect object information from multiple angles, maximizing the avoidance of blind spot limitations, as shown in Figure 2, and can measure depth information. Due to the technological advantages of light field cameras, they can replace 3D laser scanning cameras
