Product Details

Residual chromatograph for ethylene oxide (EO)
Scope of application for ethylene oxide sterilization:
Disposable masks, gloves, disposable sterile gloves, electronic instruments, optical instruments, books, documents, fur, cotton, synthetic fibers, plastic products, wooden products, ceramic and metal products, endoscopes, and disposable medical supplies.
1. Overview:
The pneumonia epidemic caused by the virus on the eve of the 2020 Spring Festival has caused concern among Chinese people. Wearing masks in the face of the epidemic is undoubtedly one of the effective preventive measures to isolate the virus. With the development of the epidemic, masks have become the "New Year's goods" during the 2020 Spring Festival. Masks are difficult to buy and are out of stock nationwide. However, what is even more frightening is that the masks you buy at a high price may also be fake. Therefore, the production process of masks is extremely strict, especially sterilization, which is crucial.
2、 Introduction and Testing Summary of Ethylene Oxide (EO) Sterilizer
Ethylene oxide (EO), also known as ethylene oxide, has strong diffusion and penetration abilities, and has bactericidal effects on various microorganisms such as bacterial spores, fungi, and viruses. It is a broad-spectrum sterilizing agent. Ethylene oxide has high vapor pressure, strong penetration into packaging and sterilized objects, and strong oxidation properties, making it widely used in the sterilization and disinfection process of medical equipment. However, ethylene oxide is also a toxic carcinogen. Disposable sterile products come into direct contact with human tissues and blood, and their safety and effectiveness directly affect the life, health, and safety of patients. Therefore, national standards require the detection of residual ethylene oxide (EO) sterilizer in the production process.

3、 Standard
At present, the national standards for the determination of ethylene oxide include: "GB/T16886.7-2015 Biological Evaluation Part 7 Ethylene Oxide Sterilization Residue" (equivalent to ISO10993-7:2008), "GB/T14233.1-2008 Inspection Methods for Infusion, Transfusion, and Injection Equipment Part 1: Chemical Analysis Methods", etc; In addition, the local standard DB13/T1081.22-2009 "Plastics for Food Packaging Materials and Products Part 22: Determination of Ethylene Oxide and Propane Oxide Content" in Hebei Province also provides a method for determining the content of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. The lower limit for the determination of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide monomers in this method is 0.2mg/kg.
4、 Detection of residual ethylene oxide by gas chromatography
The headspace gas chromatography method is used to determine the residual amount of ethylene oxide, with fast detection efficiency, short analysis cycle, simple operation, high accuracy, and is a practical detection solution for medical equipment manufacturers and hospitals. This method complies with the national standard GB/T14233.1-2008 Inspection Methods for Infusion, Blood Transfusion, and Injection Equipment Part 1: Chemical Analysis Methods GB/T16886.7-2015 Biological Evaluation Part 7: Residual Ethylene Oxide Sterilization (2)
fiveMethod for making standard products
Sterilization testing for residual ethylene oxide; Standard for headspace gas phase method; In accordance with national standard requirements; 6 gradient concentrations are required (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10ppm); A concentration of 10mg/L or 10ppm can be directly selected as the mother liquor for gradient dilution, using pure water (such as secondary water from a water purifier or Watsons distilled water) for dilution
