Briefly describeEaton Airflex clutch:

1. Airflex products mainly include brakes and clutches, which are divided into the following types:

2. Working principle of Airflex clutch brake:

When air pressure is applied to the pneumatic tire, the tire expands, forcing the friction plate assembly to evenly grip the friction wheel hub mounted on the driven component. The CB type clutch is used as a clutch, and the clutch mounting component is usually a cast iron flange mounted on the drive shaft. The torque is transmitted to the friction plate assembly through the wheel tire, and then transmitted to the component mounted on the driven shaft through the friction piece. When the driving air pressure is released, the elasticity of the pneumatic tire is used as a clutch with the assistance of centrifugal force, and the friction plate is retracted.

The Eaton CB type pneumatic tire clutch can be used as both a clutch and a brake. The main principle of CB design and structure is to use the Airflex torque elasticity principle to transmit power through elastic chloroprene rubber side plates and drive pipes. This elasticity also allows for a certain degree of misalignment of the shaft.

5. Precautions for installation of Eaton EATON clutch assembly:

(1) The clutch must be protected from contamination by oil, grease, or large amounts of dust. Oil or grease contamination can cause a decrease in clutch or brake torque, and either situation can cause the clutch or brake to slip and overheat

(2) For clutch and brake applications, the alignment of the shaft must be within the specified error range. When the alignment error of the shaft exceeds the limit value specified in the manual, it will cause accelerated wear of the clutch components. If the alignment error is too large, the clutch will vibrate violently or overheat due to friction plate drag when disengaged.
