There must be no relative motion in the radial and axial directions. Therefore, bearings must meet high requirements in terms of zero clearance, rigidity, and operational performance. How to check the fit between bearings and shafts
After the installation of INA bearings in the main engine, if the radial runout of the main shaft is measured, it can be found that there is a certain change in the measured value for each rotation; When measuring continuously, it can be observed that after a certain number of rotations, this change will approximately repeat itself. The indicator for measuring the degree of change is the cyclic rotation accuracy. The number of revolutions required to approximately repeat the change represents the "quasi period" of cyclic rotation accuracy. If the magnitude of the change within the quasi period is large, it is called poor cyclic rotation accuracy. If appropriate preload is applied to the spindle and the speed is gradually increased to approach the working speed to implement the "running in" effect of INA bearings, the cyclic rotation accuracy of the spindle can be improved.
One method to improve the accuracy of INA bearings is to trial produce precision instruments in a certain factory. The main shaft uses 6202/P2 INA bearings, but their accuracy still cannot meet the requirements. Then, the shaft neck is thickened and a raceway is made on it to replace the inner ring. The steel balls are precisely measured, and the size is measured in groups of three, with each group of steel balls separated by an interval of nearly 120 °. The fit clearance between INA bearings and shafts must be appropriate, and the radial clearance can be detected using the following methods.
1. Ruler testing method
For INA bearings with larger diameters and larger clearances, a narrower feeler gauge should be used for direct inspection. For bearings with smaller diameters, the clearance is small and cannot be measured with a feeler gauge. However, the side clearance of INA bearings must be measured with a gauge of appropriate thickness.
2. Lead pressure testing method
The lead pressure method for detecting INA bearing clearance is more accurate than using a feeler gauge, but it is more labor-intensive. The aluminum wire used for testing should be soft, and the diameter should not be too large or too small. The ideal diameter is 1.5 to 2 times the gap. In practical work, soft lead wire is usually used for testing.
When testing, first open the bearing cover, select a lead wire of appropriate diameter, cut it into small sections of 15-40 millimeters long, place them on the journal and at the interface between the upper and lower bearings, cover the INA bearing cover, tighten the fixing bolts according to the specified torque, then loosen the bolts, remove the INA bearing cover, use a micrometer to measure the thickness of the flattened lead wire, and calculate the average clearance between the top of the INA bearing.
If the top gap is too small, a pad can be added on the joint surface of the upper and lower tiles. If it is too large, reduce padding, scrape or re water the tiles.
Adjustment of Bearing Tightness: In order to prevent possible rotation and axial movement of the bearing during operation, in addition to fitting interference and stop parts, the bearing must also be tightened with INA bearing cover. The measurement method is the same as the top clearance measurement method. In addition to measuring the thickness of the soft lead wire, the bearing tightness can be calculated by measuring the elastic deformation of the bearing after compression
The general compression force of the bearing shell is 0.02~0.04 millimeters. If the clamping force does not meet the standard, the thickness of the gasket at the joint surface between the INA bearing and the bearing seat can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing it, and no gasket is allowed to be added to the back of the bearing.
In addition to ensuring radial clearance, sliding INA bearings should also ensure axial clearance. When detecting axial clearance, move the shaft to an extreme position, and then use a feeler gauge or dial gauge to measure the displacement of the shaft from one extreme position to another, which is the axial clearance.
When the clearance of the sliding INA bearing does not meet the requirements, it should be adjusted. Split type INA bearings often use shims to adjust the radial clearance (top clearance).

Installation steps
Before installing the bearing on the shaft, it is necessary to first remove the fixing pin of the bearing sleeve, polish the surface of the shaft neck smooth and clean, and apply oil to the shaft neck for rust prevention and lubrication (allowing the bearing to rotate slightly on the shaft).
2. Apply lubricating oil to the mating surface between the bearing seat and the bearing, and install the INA bearing into the bearing seat. Then fit the assembled bearing and bearing seat together onto the shaft Push to the desired location for installation.
3. Do not tighten the bolts that fix the bearing seat yet, but allow the bearing sleeve to rotate within the bearing seat. Install the other end bearing and seat on the same shaft, rotate the shaft a few times, and let the INA bearing automatically align itself. Tighten the bearing seat bolts again.
4. Install the eccentric sleeve. First, insert the eccentric sleeve onto the eccentric step of the bearing inner sleeve and tighten it by hand in the direction of the shaft rotation Then insert or press the small iron rod into the counterbore on the eccentric sleeve Use a hammer to strike the small iron rod in the direction of axial rotation Install the eccentric sleeve firmly, and finally tighten the hexagon socket screw on the eccentric sleeve.
