What are the precautions for cleaning alloy barrels?
Date: 2024-11-29Read: 38
Alloy barrel refers to a cylindrical component made of alloy material, commonly used as a rotating part in mechanical equipment. It has excellent strength, hardness, and wear resistance, and can withstand stress and load under high-speed rotation and complex working conditions. Alloy barrels are commonly used in various industrial fields, such as engines, hydraulic machinery, conveying equipment, etc., to provide stable and reliable rotational support and transmission functions. According to specific applications and requirements, alloy barrels can be made of different alloy materials, such as steel, aluminum, copper, etc.
Precautions for cleaning:
1. Prepare ventilation conditions as smoke may be generated during the processing.
2. Rotate the screw at a constant speed and heat the surface evenly. Do not only heat the screw at a certain point, otherwise the thermal stress on one side will cause the screw to twist and deform.
3. The temperature of the screw should not exceed 400 ℃ (including the thread), otherwise it will reduce the hardness and wear resistance of the screw.
4. Special care should be taken when handling the check ring, as the thin-walled part on the check ring heats up rapidly.
5. Clean with a wire brush and polish the surface of the screw with sandpaper (sand grade 240-280).
6. Burn off the residual material on the internal thread (left-hand thread) with a flame, and then clean the thread with a wire brush.
7. When screwing on the screw head, apply HSC ointment. Do not use other types of lubricating oil or grease to lubricate the screw threads. These lubricants may undergo coking reactions at high temperatures, and the residue left behind may get stuck in the screw head.
8. Avoid letting hard objects hit the screw, causing cracks or fractures in the screw.
9. When repairing, especially when repairing heated barrels, it is necessary to wear a protective face mask and glasses.
Alloy barrel maintenance:
1. Screw manufacturing should use wear-resistant alloy steel with minimal deformation in high-temperature environments. After precision machining, the working surface of the screw should be wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Therefore, the threaded part of the screw should be treated with nitriding and plated with a hard chromium layer, with a hardness of 700-800HV.
2. During idle testing, be careful not to let the screw run for a long time without air; During the trial operation and debugging, the idle running time should exceed 3 minutes
3. The disassembly of the screw can generally be done by pushing out the screw from the rear or using a tool to pull out the screw.
4. After cleaning the screw and its connected components, the working surfaces should be inspected for scratches and friction damage. Minor scars should be repaired with fine sandpaper or oilstone.
5. When serious wear and deep grooves appear on the working surface of the screw, the cause of the damage should be analyzed and identified, the fault should be eliminated to avoid similar phenomena from happening again, and then the worn scars should be treated. If both the screw and the barrel are severely worn, the actual clearance between the two components should be checked first. If it exceeds the standard requirements by a lot, the screw should be replaced at this time.
6. When assembling the screw, a layer of molybdenum disulfide heat-resistant grease should be applied to the joint surface with other parts to facilitate the next disassembly.
7. Temporarily unused screws should be coated with a layer of protective oil after surface cleaning, wrapped and hung in a dry and ventilated place.
