What are the common faults of long column testing machines

During the operation of the long column testing machine, various faults may occur. Here are some common faults and their solutions:

1、 Power and control failures

  1. The device has no action
    • reasonThe power switch on the internal electrical control board of the device is not closed, or the external main incoming line and the connection of the internal circuit of the device have loose wire ends.
    • solutionCheck and close all power switches, use a multimeter to check the circuit connections, and ensure good contact.
  2. Emergency stop button not reset
    • reasonThe emergency stop button on the control panel was not reset in a timely manner after being pressed.
    • solutionCheck the status of the emergency stop button to ensure it has been reset.
  3. communication failure
    • reasonThe communication cable plug between the upper computer and the lower computer is loose.
    • solutionCheck the communication cable connector to ensure a secure connection.

2、 Hydraulic system malfunction

  1. Oil leakage in the oil system
    • reasonThe joint of the oil system is not tightened or the oil pipe is broken.
    • solutionCheck the oil system joints, tighten or replace the washers; Replace the oil pipe with a stronger one.
  2. The pressure cannot rise
    • reasonInsufficient fuel level in the fuel tank, loose oil pump belt, blocked oil delivery valve piston, improper adjustment of needle valve position on the side of the working cylinder, etc.
    • solutionAdd oil to the specified level; Adjust or replace the belt; Clean the oil delivery valve piston; Repeatedly adjust the position of the needle valve.
  3. There is air in the oil system
    • reasonThere is air in the oil system, causing unstable pressure.
    • solutionStart the oil pump, close the return valve, open the delivery valve, raise the piston to a certain height, and then open the return valve to allow the oil to flow back to the oil tank. Cycle multiple times to exhaust the air.

3、 Mechanical component failure

  1. The crossbeam cannot be raised or lowered
    • reasonThe power supply is not turned on, the test force exceeds the specified value, the crossbeam moves to the limit position, and the thermal expansion protector is activated.
    • solutionTurn on the power; Reduce the test force to below the specified value; Adjust the position of the crossbeam; Check the status of the thermal expansion protector.
  2. The pendulum returns too quickly or abnormally
    • reasonThe steel ball of the oil outlet hole of the buffer valve is worn or has a large gap with the valve seat, or is blocked by dirt.
    • solutionRemove the buffer valve for cleaning and readjust the gap.
  3. Abnormal fracture surface of the sample
    • reasonThe main body of the testing machine is not installed vertically, the jaws are not clamped properly, or the quality is poor.
    • solutionAdjust the main body of the testing machine to a vertical position; Ensure that the jaws symmetrically clamp the sample; Replace the jaws with good quality ones.

4、 Sensor and instrument malfunction

  1. Sensor communication malfunction
    • reasonThere is a problem with the sensor communication cable or the sensor itself is malfunctioning.
    • solutionCheck the communication cable connection of the sensor, replace it with a sensor of the same model for comparison or use an instrument for testing.
  2. No display or abnormal display on the instrument panel
    • reasonThe power indicator light is not on, the connection socket is loose, the fuse is broken, etc.
    • solutionCheck the status of the power indicator light, ensure that the connection socket is secure, and replace the broken fuse.

5、 Other faults

  1. During the experimental process, the aircraft body vibrates
    • reasonThere are vibration sources around the testing machine, unstable machine installation foundation, motor failure, low oil viscosity, or air in the oil system.
    • solutionEliminate the surrounding vibration sources, ensure that the machine installation foundation is firm, check the motor status, increase the viscosity of the oil appropriately, and exhaust the air in the oil system.
  2. Abnormal experimental data
    • reasonBefore the experiment, the "force reset button" or "deformation reset button" was not pressed, the specimen was not firmly clamped, and the force sensor or decoder settings were incorrect.
    • solutionBefore the experiment, press the relevant reset button to ensure that the test piece is firmly clamped, check and reset the force sensor or decoder.
